Dr. Freda Deskin: Ladies in the News honoree

Dr. Freda Deskin, CEO and Superintendent of ASTEC Charter Schools, will be honored on April 6 by the Oklahoma Hospitality Club as one of 2017’s Ladies in the News.

Dr. Freda Deskin, Founder, CEO and Superintendent of ASTEC Charter Schools will be honored April 6 with a distinguished “Ladies in the News” award, presented by the Oklahoma Hospitality Club. Deskin will be one of 13 central Oklahoma women honored for her outstanding contributions to the community. 

The award will be presented during the nonprofit’s largest fundraiser of the year, a luncheon and styleshow held at Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. The club raises dollars to donate to exceptional nonprofit organizations in the area.

This year, two large financial grants from funds raised during the luncheon and style show will benefit Angels Foster Network in Edmond and Genesis Project in Jones. 

Deskin and the other honorees will model fashions donated by R Meyer during the styleshow. 

The Oklahoma Hospitality Club consists of local women who wish to use their time and talents to benefit worthy causes in central Oklahoma. The group consists of about 100 members, over 40, and the Junior Hospitality Club has about 40 members.
