Still Reaching for the Stars!

As part of our 10th Anniversary celebration, ASTEC launched an annual giving program. You can help us in our mission to educate more inner-city children by supporting this effort.

Please consider the following options:

Student Sponsorship Society* - For just $500 a year you can help educate one student. Our students embrace how we focus on the Four C’s: Content, Character, Competency and Community. An investment in a student today will ensure that we have an educated work force and an involved citizenry in Oklahoma City in the future.

Stellar Faculty Development Fund* – “Education by Example” means having the best and most motivated teachers for our students. This fund helps us hire “impact” teachers and provide merit pay to faculty members who meet rigid, annually-prescribed performance criteria.

*As a charter school, we receive 25 percent less funding than our public school counterparts. At ASTEC, we are also responsible for providing our own facilities and the costs associated with their upkeep and maintenance. It is critical then for us to secure private financial support from donors to help us offset our operating expenses. For the purposes of full disclosure, we apply all charitable contributions to our general operating budget unless directed to do otherwise by the donor.

Other Giving Options

Yearbook Angel – Most of our students come from low-income households, and many are unable to purchase a high school yearbook. For a donation of just $55.00, you can ensure that a student has a lasting memory of his or her time at ASTEC.

Athletic Program – We field competitive boys’ and girls’ basketball teams in both our middle school and high school. Your gift of $50 or more will help defray the expenses associated with uniforms, equipment, transportation to and from games and rental fees associated with our off-campus practice facility.

Technology – We take pride in having the most “high-tech” schools in Oklahoma, and a contribution in support of technology will help us purchase the latest state-of-the-art equipment for our classrooms. Your gift of $150 or more will be applied toward the purchase of any new equipment.

Holiday Angel - Each year we choose several deserving students and their families to receive special gifts and food to help make the holiday season a little bit brighter. Our faculty and staff choose the recipients, but their identities are never revealed to other students or the general public. Find out how you can sponsor a student and his or her family.

In-Kind Gifts/Services - ASTEC, Inc. is also in a position to accept “non-cash” gifts like appreciated securities, real estate, paid-up insurance policies and IRAs.
