The construction of the new ASTEC Secondary School building has reached the midpoint. To celebrate this occasion, ASTEC held a special Topping Out Ceremony on Monday, September 22, at the construction site at 2600 General Pershing Boulevard in Oklahoma City.
Representatives from the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber kicked off the Topping Out Ceremony that honored not just the progress of the building, which is on track to open its doors in June 2026, but the vision of ASTEC’s founder and CEO, Dr. Freda Deskin, and the dedication of those who helped make the dream a reality:
- Doug Fuller, ASTEC School Foundation, The Fund, Board Chair
- Franci Hart, ASTEC Governing Board Chair
- ASTEC Fund and Governing Board Members
- FSB Architects + Engineers
- Miller-Tippens Construction
- Newman Development- Owner’s Representative
Also in attendance was ASTEC Superintendent, Dr. Stacey Hughes, along with ASTEC faculty, administrators, and staff, whose dedication has shaped generations of scholars.
