📢 ASTEC Families: Driveline Update & Important Changes
Thank you for your patience as we continue working through our driveline issues. We are actively making positive changes to create a safer, better, and more efficient experience for all of our families.
We believe these adjustments, along with everyone following the designated driveline routes and procedures, will help improve traffic flow across all of our drivelines, especially our Middle School and High School drivelines.
🌅 MORNING DROP-OFF
Families with scholars at both sites will continue to drop off at the Elementary School in the morning, just as you did today.
The only change is that secondary scholars will be escorted to the Secondary gym instead of the Elementary gym.
Please remember:
• Elementary arrival begins at 7:30 AM.
• Secondary arrival begins at 8:00 AM.
• Families may not walk scholars to the campus doors. Please use the appropriate driveline.
• Please do not line up early. Arriving early creates additional congestion.
• Elementary families should NOT enter from 10th Street onto May Avenue to cut into the driveline. Please follow the designated route and enter from Reno Avenue onto May Avenue.
• Secondary families should not use the Elementary driveline unless they are also dropping off an Elementary scholar.
• Families with both Middle School and High School scholars should use the High School driveline.
🚗 AFTERNOON PICK-UP — IMPORTANT CHANGE
Beginning tomorrow, all secondary scholars with elementary siblings will be picked up via the Elementary driveline rather than the Middle School or High School drivelines.
Please note:
• Elementary dismissal begins at 3:05 PM.
• Secondary dismissal begins at 3:35 PM.
• The Elementary driveline for families picking up both elementary and secondary scholars will NOT begin until 3:40 PM.
• Secondary scholars are not released until 3:35 PM, so we need time for them to safely transition to the Elementary campus and meet their siblings.
• Please do not line up before 3:35 PM. Arriving early creates additional congestion and makes it more difficult to keep traffic moving efficiently.
• This change will significantly reduce the stress on our Middle School and High School drivelines.
🚦 PLEASE FOLLOW ALL DESIGNATED ROUTES
Following the correct entrance and exit routes is essential to keeping traffic moving safely and efficiently.
• Elementary: Right turn ONLY onto Villa when exiting.
• Middle School: Right turn ONLY onto May Avenue when exiting.
• Please do not cut into a driveline or use another driveline to bypass traffic. Doing so creates additional congestion for families who are following the designated routes.
• Please review the driveline maps. If you are unsure where to enter or exit, the maps are available on the ASTEC website.
• Additional stop signs are being installed to help improve traffic flow and safety.
We know the first few days require some adjustment, and we appreciate your flexibility, patience, and cooperation. When everyone follows the designated routes and procedures, we can greatly reduce wait times and keep traffic moving safely and efficiently.
