ASTEC Charter Schools' governing board consists of experienced businessmen and women from the Oklahoma City metro area. Board meetings are every other month, with committee meetings occurring monthly and open to the public. The CEO/Founder meets weekly with the board chair.

The governing board is responsible for ensuring the financial and academic success of the school. The school is led by the CEO/Founder who reports directly to the board.

As the founder, the CEO is the president of the organization, but is not a voting member of the governing board.

The advisory board members are not voting members of the governing board. Rather, they serve as ambassadors, promoting ASTEC in the community and providing expertise and advice in a number of areas.

The board does not take complaints regarding employees or students. Those issues are handled at the school level according to the procedures and guidelines found in the Elementary School Parent/Scholar, Middle/High School Parent/Scholar, and Employee handbooks.

As a public school, ASTEC Charter Schools is required by law to have an annual, independent financial audit. To date, ASTEC boasts clean audits each year since its inception. Click here to view the audits from the last few years.

The governing board works closely with the school's foundation, The ASTEC Fund, Inc., a separate nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization. Both entities are tax exempt and contributions to either entity are tax deductible.
